I loved this book.
Several people told me that it’s a pretty slow book and they didn’t really like it until the end. So going into it I was a little worried it would take some time to get hooked.
I don’t really know what they are talking about. From the very first pages you are learn of the terrible fate of Elantris, the city of god’s. No more are people blessed to become the gods of Elantris, now they are terrible creatures, dead in every way, but somehow still alive.
The story revolves around three main characters. Raodin, Serene, and Hrathen. Each story is intertwined in complex and wonderful plot.
While this story isn’t as action packed as other Brandon Sanderson books, I was full of questions and I devoured the book to learn the answers. He made promises throughout the book, and over and over again he delivered the answers in unique, creative, and awesome ways. I most definitely recommend this book.
If you’re a fan of Brandon Sanderson and you haven’t already read Elantris, I definitely recommend it.
